Dr. Stacy Greene honored as a 2017 ‘Health Care Hero’ by New Orleans CityBusiness

Dr. Stacy Greene, Associate Medical Director and Infectious Diseases specialist at St. Thomas Community Health Center, has been recognized among other healthcare industry standouts in New Orleans CityBusiness’s 2017 Health Care Heroes. Health Care Heroes honors 50 health care professionals in the New Orleans area in six categories: animal care, first responder, nurse, physician, professional and volunteer. Did You Know: Our Breast Center Staff is Bilingual?

Nearly 12 percent of all women get breast cancer in their lifetime.

Scheduling regular mammograms is the first step in detecting breast cancer. Diagnosing breast cancer as early as possible grants patients and their physicians more treatment options and increases the likelihood of successful treatment.

Our Breast Center has specialists on staff fluent in both Spanish and English to ensure access to healthcare for all. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans. We also offer eligible individuals a sliding scale based on household income.

There’s still time to run for a cause!

Good news! You can burn off all the king cake from Carnival season and help empower unnamed (8) youth across New Orleans at Youth Run NOLA’s 504k on March 18th.

This year’s race and festivities will take place at Crescent Park for the first time and the post-race festival will feature live entertainment by Big Freedia, snacks and health resources for families.
The nonprofit’s largest annual fundraiser is a run for all of New Orleans. St. Thomas Community Health Center is proud to be this year’s presenting sponsor.

This year, the American Optometric Association is promoting awareness around digital eyestrain and the importance of receiving regular, comprehensive eye exams from a doctor of optometry.

At St. Thomas, optometrists see patients in need of corrective lenses, those suffering from disease affecting the eyes, and those needing ocular surgery.
