Never tried telemedicine before? Don’t sweat it! We can easily coach you through this process after you call to get started.
Video is not required, but it is preferred. Audiovisual, rather than audio-only, allows for a more complete medical evaluation.

How Does Telemedicine work at St. Thomas?
On the day of your appointment, you will receive a link via text message that will connect you to the provider’s virtual waiting room. If you can access email on your smartphone, you can request that the link be emailed to you instead. After clicking on the link, please follow the instructions on the screen to be checked in to the waiting room.
To optimize your experience and ensure a good connection, we recommend you:
- Please make sure you are in a quiet room.
- Please use Wi-Fi if possible (although data will work well enough usually).
- Please do not drive during the appointment.

It is important to see you when you need us either for an urgent problem or for routine primary care. We know that work, transportation, child care and lots of other issues make it hard to keep appointments. Call us at 504-529-5558 or submit an appointment request form on the day that is right for you. Our phones open at 7 a.m. and we will continuously monitor the website requests as well. Contact us as early as you can. If you have to book an appointment other than the same day because of Medicaid and Medicare transportation, let us know when you contact us.
