December, 2020 Update:

The St.Thomas Breast Center will no longer provide mammography.  We began this service when Hurricane Katrina closed the large hospitals in 2005. After fifteen years of proudly supporting our community’s needs, our equipment is aging and we feel it is time to refer patients to larger, state-of-the-art imaging centers that provide mammography, breast ultrasound and breast MRI. According to the Susan G. Komen organization, Washington D.C., Louisiana and Mississippi have the highest breast cancer mortality rates in the country. Specifically, African American women in Louisiana have significantly higher risk than the rest of the country when it comes to breast cancer mortality according to Louisiana Breast & Cervical Health Program.
